Well that was what I was missing there...I was storing it but not
restoring it...I'll give that a try

Anybody wanna take a stab at the other questions?

Well if your using ALSA, then you need to tell it to store your audio
levels before it shuts down....and then have them retrieved upon reboot.

This can be done using:

alsactl store
&
alsactl restore

if memory servers me correctly

Subject: [mythtv-users] All Kinds of Setup Problems
My Setup:

CPU: Intel P4 @ 1.4GHz
MEM: 256mb ram
CAPTURE: Hauppauge PVR350
AUDIO: Turtle Beach Santa Cruz

My Cable Provider in So. California:

AT&T Broadband (digital)

I tried installing the system for the first time using Fedora Core 1 and
I can't seem to get it working correctly. I have a long list of issues
that hopefully some of you can help me with.

1) Whenever I reboot my machine the sound levels are all reset to
0 and muted.
2) I set my PVR350 to use input 4 and I get snow with no sound.
All other inputs don't even give me snow.
3) When I run depmod I get the following output
/sbin/depmod -a
depmod: *** Unresolved symbols in
/lib/modules/2.4.22-1.2140.nptl_30.rhfc1.at/kernel/arch/i386/kernel/powe
rnow-k7.o

I guess we can start with those...anybody have any ideas? Suggestions?
Do I have to do something different because I'm on digital cable?
