[mythtv-users] just watching TV is jumpy

freevo works fine and it does timeshifting.  It only starts recording
when you "pause" it.  IMHO this is a much better solution than encoding
and decoding all of the time for no reason.

Also, freevo's guide is fast and simple.  The mythtv guide is extremely
slow!  Any ideas on how to speed it up?  Second, can you go straight
from the guide to watching the TV?

Freevo seems optimal for using the guide to select something to watch
live and then watch it live.  MythTV seems optimal for scheduling
recordings and then playing them back.  It is a shame that the 2
projects don't do a better job of doing both.
