GOOD, so it's not an ivtv problem, it's myth's setup that is not right. 
I bet you that your version of myth is not playing with your ivtv
version.  You'll probably need the latest of both.  That's what I have
and it works great for me. (note that mplayer won't quite work "out of
the box" though)
