Asking if playback is sluggish doesn't really mean much.  what exactly do
you mean slightly sluggish?  are frames skipping, is it playing everything
but chopping up in between, is playback simply delayed but then normal once
its buffered?

i think a slight delay (1-3 seconds maybe) is normal but other things such
as choppy playback and frame skipping are a result of lack of system
resources, among other things ... have you tried switching your playback
settings, encoding settings, etc?  For that matter, what settings are you
using, and have you tried lower resolutions than the default?
