[mythtv-users] lirc and SBLiveDrive

Noob here, just wondering if anyone has been able to setup a livedrive with 
lirc and myth, I've been getting the same errors as alex at carbonated.com 
on Nov. 18, 2003, 7:32 PM had - "Lirc Problems and one other question" and 
was wondering if anyone had found a solution. "When I run:
$ /usr/bin/irw
I get the following error:
connect: Connection refused
I imagine this is because I've already set it to run on startup?

I've redone all the steps in the guide (twice), but it still doesn't
work. So, I tried running:
# /sbin/service lircd stop
and it gives this error:
Stopping infrared remote control daemon: [FAILED]

Then if I run:
# /sbin/service lircd start
I get:
Starting infrared remote control daemon: [OK]

However, then when I run:
$ /usr/bin/irw
Nothing happens. It just gives me a new prompt [mythtv at mythtv mythtv]$.
No chance to check if the system is getting signals from the remote. "

I know my livedrive and remote works but what's wrong with this lirc???
