As far as I know there is a XServer standard call XVIDEO (XV for short)
so NVIDIA then produced there own XVIDEO (XVideo Motion Compensation)
API for there Geforce brand of cards. Oh yes its XvMC for short.. <Chuckle>

The XvMC standard is only supported by nVidia and if you compile up
mythtv with the right options it will drive it through this interface as
well.

I did wonder..I've got a PVR-250 from a previous play with PVR although
I don't use it much as the DVB-T quality is so much better.

You'll do ok.. Its pretty neat stuff these days.. 5 years ago I was a
die-hard sun worshipper now I wouldn't dream of implementing for
anything else (well maybe the occastional port <Chuckle>.

There's some neato aptrpm install guides which take the pain out of most
things. I followed these until I had to compile up my own version of
mythtv which was a lot less pain because I had apt installed..

Good luck, don't forget to eat and sleep every so often.. <Chuckle>
