[mythtv-users] Optimal TVOUT settings

What is the way to configure TVOUT for the best
possible picture?  The only specific information I
have found for my GeForce4 card is in the docs for the
nVidia driver.  Those docs say that I need to set:
HorizSync 30-50
VertRefresh 60

Is this a hard rule or a general guideline?  

Next question.  The nVidia docs say:
the only valid modes for TV are 640x480 and 800x600,
and possibly 1024x768 if the TV encoder on your video
card is a BrookTree 871.

What is the relation between the TV encoder and the
output resolution?  Will it matter if I try to output
at 1024x768 even if my encoder card is not a BT871?

Next question.  What is the relationship between nvtv
and the nVidia driver?  Are the settings I use to run
nvtv seperate from anything I specify in the X config
files or do they have to match?

Final question.  Will turning TwinView on hurt
performance?

I can't seem to find this info although it seems like
it should be available.  If this is an RTFM question
can someone please point out which FM I should read.
