[mythtv-users] High CPU use by X in dvd rip progress screen

I tried a DVD rip for the first time yesterday and saw
that it seemed to crawl, with the DVD drive hardly
being accessed. It turned out that top showed X
consuming around 70% of CPU. Escaping out of the DVD
rip progress screen without cancelling the rip caused
usage by X to drop back down and progress clearly sped
up to a reasonable rate.

This was with 0.13 under Fedora 1, installed using
Jarod's guide (but with the stock Fedora kernel).

Has anyone seen this? There was a post back in
November about a perfect rip being much slower than
expected but nothing else.
