Further findings to the below --
When Mythbackend starts live tv displays on the tv.
If I then launch Mythfrontend and view live tv --
Myth live tv on my monitor is delayed as it should be. Live TV on the
monitor seems to be realtime - no delay.
What does mythbackend (0.14) do when it starts up?

Just giving this a bump,
Apparently I am not the only one with this issue, I received an off list
email form someone else with similar challenges..

It seems that no one else is having any problems similar to mine, so
perhaps I could gleam some information from those who know so that I can
hopefully figure this out....
Again to specify -
AMD 2.0Ghz (really 1.8)
Matrox Marvel g400 - with external blue box composite in and out used
Frame buffer support enabled
Following the typical how to's I can use matroxset and view my xsession
(kde) on both monitor and TV.
Note: on boot up I launch into init level 5 - KDE login - manually running
script for matrox set, then iv script.
Xawtv works perfectly - great picture on both monitor and TV.
When I start mythbackend (fresh boot-up, no xawtv) My monitor shuts off,
and automatically plays live tv on tv out. What does Mythbackend do on
startup? (v.14)...
>From this point I have problems.
after playing for a while - I can get the display back on the monitor, but
not back on the tv - with the matroxset - seems tv out is broken at this
point.
Myth works fine on the monitor if I launch frontend now.
Since it seems no one can answer why this is happening, perhaps some
information about how this should be working would be nice :)
So close, yet so far :)

Whenever I start Mythbackend - nothing else running, frontend not loaded,
It automatically starts playing live tv on my tv out..
any ideas how or why this could happen?
AMD 2.0 Ghz
Matrox Marvel -G400 Both capture and frame buffer out.
Currently set up with composite in (and out to tv)
