I read the other e-mail. The information in it is too sketchy to serve as
the basis for giving you real help, except to confirm that you have a
vidcap card (Ati Wonder VE) that should work with Myth ... and presumably
with tvTime ...
though that aspect is better addressed on a tvTime support list.
So ... I suggest that the first thing you need to do is see if you can
change channels manually. Try changing channels using v4lctl, or xawtv, or
vcr (they all have man pages where you can get the needed details) and see
if any of them works ... assuming, of course, that your setup uses the
card's tuner (see below).
If they don't, see if your bttv module line includes the right tuner type
for your card. (I don't have that card, so don't recall its tuner type, but
if you search the card name in this list's archives, you'll find
information about what it needs.) This assumes you are using the card's
tuner to change channels. If not -- if you are controlling an external
cable or satellite box somehow -- you really do have to tell us that to get
meaningful help (this is one of the questions I asked first time that you
did not bother to answer, unless the tvTime option you mention above is an
implicit answer).
Also, as I asked before, and you also did not answer, did this card *ever*
change channels properly in your system? If it did, what changed just
before it stopped working properly? Did you do a system upgrade? Move to a
new version of Myth? Install tvTime? do something else?
I'd be surprised if your problem were with xmltv. But I could be wrong.
Until you provide a complete trouble report, only a psychic will be able to
figure out what the problem is.
