I use 2200 for a min bitrate and 6000 for a max here with a PVR-250. 1 hour
= 1.2GB for me.

I'm not exactly sure what my rates/settings are, but a 1/2 hour show for me
is around 1 gig coming out of my PVR-350.

I'm curious what settings for bitrate and resolution have been tried over
802.11b networks. I record the majority of my shows at MPEG4, 1800 bitrate,
resolution of 320x240, and MP3 audio quality at 6. A typical hour long show
is about 250MB.

I plan to try a wireless frontend.

Personally I had 11b set up and it was unnacceptable most of the time.
Sometimes I'd get a decent image and sound for a while but most of the time
it was very broken, skippy sound and an image to match. I'm using a laptop
for a frontend to play around with and decided to just cable it rather then
use my wireless router and wireless nic@ 11b
