[mythtv-users] mythtv not responding when playing movies

When you say you play a movie, I assume you are using mythdvd or
mythvideo, which in turn uses mplayer (IIRC).
Have you checked that you have mplayer setup properly?
Have you tried running mplayer w/out myth and see if it works?

Just some ideas...
