I use VNC for this. If I connect to display #0 on the server I'm
connecting to the display mythfrontend is running in. If a movie or
TV is playing I just get a blue screen on the client but if the UI is
up I can see it fine.
Don't set up the inetd style of VNC.
I think I'm using Tight VNC on the server and VNCViewer from realvnc
on the Windows client side.
I also have Xvnc installed but I think that's only for the additional displays
I've defined. I'm not positive but I don't think its used to manage display #0.
OTOH, I picked up a wireless keyboard+mouse for <$15 in the return bin at
the local computer store.
