[mythtv-users] slave backend configuration questions

I've gone through the archives and I can't find a description of this.

I have a master backend+frontend on it that is with the main TV and I am
building a 2nd system for the bedroom. This will have a capture card so it
will be a slave backend + frontend.

The cards in the master are a PVR250 and an M179. The card in the slave
will be a bttv (at least I think it will be).

I was planning on NFS exporting the storage on the master so the slave
can read the files directly. I think I set Master Backend Override on the
slave to enable this. (yes?).

The slave also has about 20GB of space available for recording. Will this
space ever be used? Do I configure the backend on the slave to point at
this space or do I point it at the NFS exported space? If the slave records
something locally (assuming it can do this) will it ever move over to the
master?
Do I NFS export this directory from the slave to the master and enable Master
Backend Override there as well?

When I add the capture card in mythsetup on the slave backend I understand
that it really gets defined on the master. Does the slave backend also know
about this
so it can record if the master is down (unusual)? If the slave frontend
wants to watch
livetv is there a preference for using its local card or does it use the
next free
card which will generally be one on the master (since there are 2 of them
there).

I noticed that I couldn't edit video from the slave frontend that is stored
on the
master backend. Is this because I don't have the Master Backend Override flag
set? I could start transcoding though. Does this occur on the slave backend
or the master backend.
