Yeah. putting them in a Webpage with tons of graphics makes them
smaller, huh?

so why would you want to archive them?
OTOH, If you really want to archive them at your machine, how would
you want to do that with a Forum?

If its that many PCs, perhaps you should use webmail or work remote on
your own machine (think ssh and mutt)

There is the IMAP Protocol for that, (Your mail stays at your
providers server, you just download all Subjects and the Mails you
want to read...)
