[mythtv-users] couple of problems

Hi!

first off, thanks to everyone who has contributed to this excellent
software!

i've managed to get pretty much everything working using mythtv cvs from
sunday, and a nova-t dvb card (with dvb-kernel driver) on fedora core 1
after a lot of trial and error and extensive use of the mailing list
archives ;-)

just got 2 things that i'm stuck on, might just be me doing something
silly, but i can't find the solution anywhere in the archives.

first, programmes record ok, and i can play them back in mplayer or on a
windows machine (if i change the name to .mpg) but nothing appears in
the "watch recordings" section of mythfrontend. they do seem to appear
in the database, and mythweb's "recorded programs" also displays them ok
along with thumbnails and download links, but i can't play them back in
mythfrontend because it says i haven't recorded any programmes yet.

second, the aspect ratio appears to be wrong. i'm using the nvidia
binary drivers 4363 with twinview clone mode for tv out @ 1024x768, but
when watching live tv (can't check on playback due to above problem)
myth seems to think the display is 16:9. well i guess that's the problem
anyway, 16:9 programmes are shown stretched vertically to fill the
screen, and if i use the 'w' key to switch to 4:3 it squashes the image
horizontally and puts black bars down each side.

any ideas on either of those would be greatly appreciated!

many thanks,

paul.
