Sounds like you've already made up your mind, but to help with your remaining doubts:
The MX440 is avaialbe in fanless version from several manufactures, check out NewEgg for their selection. That eliminates the noise factor. . . .
As far as the quality, I don't personally have one, but I seem to recall there might me a difference in the TV bridge on some of the cards, other than that most of the comments on that chipset have been fairly positive once set up correctly.
