Thanks for the reply,
I had already done the formentioned commands exactly as you stated. To be
sure, I readded permissions to the mythtv user. For the install i used #
apt-get install mythtv-suite
Is anything else needed to activate the Video/Image module? Are there any
database commands that are necessary?

Thanks again

I have recently installed mythtv and have the tv module running perfectly.
What i would like to know is how to get
some of the other modules to work. I have configured the Image, and Video
settings to point to a particular directory.
(/video/images/ /video/movies/ on an LVM xfs partition) After putting some
files in there, they do not show up in
the respective modules. Is there any necessary conditions, requirements, or
commands that need to run in order to scan for files?

Check to make sure that you've gone into Setup from the main MythTV screen
and in the Video section, selected the appropriate paths:
/video/recordings, /video/buffer -> MythTV
/video/images -> Gallery
/video/movies -> Video

Then check the permissions to be certain that the user running mythfrontend
also has permissions to read AND write to those directories.
# chown -R mythtv:mythtv /video

Good luck.
