Now, we'll need to edit /etc/modules.conf a little bit. You should
already find a line similar to "alias char-major-81 bttv". We want to
add a few lines at the top, so we load the correct bttv (0.9.12). Insert
these lines at the top of /etc/modules.conf, to tell it where we should
look and in what order for modules:

 

Should there be some text in here, or are you just referring to the
start of the next paragraph.....

 

While my card works with the single line, "alias char-major-81 bttv",
