Uh, yes. But I was thinking the backend could keep the machine running when
say, a recording is scheduled in 1-2 minutes, so a shutdown/reboot cycle
would probably skip over it.

In your case your frontend is quit, so completely gone, not there. You
would need something to restart it. But by just disconnecting from the
backend your frontend is still running so you don't need these tricks (and
you can maybe hibernate with X running, if X allows).

Maybe, I'm not into Myth's themes.
