My main interest is in the Slimserver's web interface managing my
playlists. My next step is to research playlist sharing between
MythMusic and the SlimServer I would be happy with that. If there was
some general interest in this I would be willing to contribute some
time to something better.

We have had our music collection setup on a slimserver for about two
years and it's great.

The MythTV/Slimserver setup we have now works fine now except:

- Separate remote for music (I think that put us at 5 uhhhggg)
- We have to change the audio input on the tuner before we play music

Here are some thoughts, but I really don't have the skills (or time to
get the skills) to actually put something like it together.

I looked around a bit and came across some interesting slimserver
plugins

-slimp3slave - a command line soft-player that acts as a SLIMP3 client

If this was rolled up in a module with some LCDProc hooks a mythtv box
(with a VFD) could have all the functionality of a slimp3 front end,
and you could get the nice VFD menuing and plugins associated with the
slim player. That would be cool.

Then if you wanted to go the extra mile you could also roll this in:

-SlimConnect - enables you to put text on your slimp3 display.

Which would allow someone with Slimp3 or squeezebox hardware to use it
as a MythTV display.
