 	There is no "conversion to nuv"... it's just a filename extension. 
I never had any trouble with it before I tried recording from a tape. 
Coming from the cabletv I never noticed any sync problems.  I haven't 
tried changing the MPEG type, but I guess I'd be skeptical that it would 
do much other than remove some padding streams.
