Well i can tell you this.  DVD Playing would suck on that system. 
Playback wouldn't be too great on it either for your mpeg2 streams coming
out of your pvr-250. If you got a pvr-350 hten you could use a slower
system.  I have an AMD XP1700 and it's horrible on playback when i do not
use the hardware decoder on the pvr-350.
