Right.  .nuv has per-frame timestamps for both audio and video and bits to 
compensate for slightly inaccurate sound card clocks.  Both of these are 
really needed to keep a/v sync for software encoding.  .avi assumes that 
sound and video are a constant rate, never drifting, never varying.
