[mythtv-users] mythtv processes not showing up in top.

I recently upgraded to kernel 2.6.8.1, GCC 3.4.1, procps-3.2.3 and the a
few day old MythTV CVS snapshot, and I noticed that mythtv processes no
longer show up in top.

I know this isn't a huge deal, but it seems weird, and I'm also running
in to odd issues with choppy video now and then, but I have a hard time
finding out what processes may be using too much CPU without top working
correctly.

Below is the output of top and vmstat, notice the load average on the
machine, this is during two recordings at the same time. Top doesn't
show a single process using more then .3% CPU (itself), and vmstat
reports that only ~35 CPU is idle, most of it used by userspace. 

If I run updatedb, or rpm --reduilddb, those processes show up in top as
using CPU, but no mythtv process seems to anymore. 

Any ideas are welcome, thanks.
