[mythtv-users] NForce2 Motherboards and MythTV (Linux)

I was just looking into possible getting a new motherboard for my mythtv
box. A couple of reasons for this. One I have a bum PCI slot in the one
I have. The second is that I could either spend $50-$60 on a PCI slot
based Promise TX4 SATA card when I upgrade my hard disks, using up a
precious PCI slot in the process, or I can get a new MB with a SI
chipset on board for almost the same price from what I can see. 2x Sata
is fine, that is 400GB of disk, and 800GB if I decided down the road to
go to 400GB disks.

Many of the newer boards seems to have the Nforce2 chipsets but I had
heard there are some issues. How good is support for the NForce2 chipset
in Linux/MythTV and what motherboards are recommended? If the onboard
sound was decent it would be a bonus, but I still have my SBLive! 5.1.

The only other thing is making sure there is ample ZIF socket space for
a *ZALMAN CNPS3100-Plus Copper CPU Cooler for Socket 462/ A/ 370*

I have had a good experience with these heatsinks.

Thanks,
