[mythtv-users] MythTV as a non-primary device?

Does anyone use their myth only when they want to 
set up a prerecorded section or watch something they 
have recorded?  Sort of like only using your VCR for 
recording and playing back, not really using the tuner 
much during actual usage.

I'd love to put this into full blown use in my setup, 
but the wife is a bit resistant to the problems I 
occasioanlly experience on the main TV in the 
house.  She's asked that I move it to where I have 
our VCR and only use it when necessary until the 
codebase is a bit more stable.  Even then, I got to 
thinking that there's no reason I can't split the signal 
and only use myth when I need one of its functions.

Arguing about recording live TV and pausing live 
tv and having the tv listings available and weather 
and all that other cool stuff isn't quite winning the 
discussion.

Awesome product, but not quite ready for non-techies...
