I the process of setting up my first mythtv box, I am going trough Jarod
Wilson's guide (Thank you Jarod!) and I am at the point where I just
installed the ivtv driver, edited my /etc/modules.conf, and modprobed
ivtv.
The problem is that the modprobe never completes and in the process of
loading all the modules, the machines hard-locks. I managed to grap
/var/log/messages while the drivers were loading and it looks like this:
Apr 12 12:32:31 mythtv gconfd (root-4250): Resolved address
"xml:readonly:/etc/gconf/gconf.xml.defau lts" to a read-only config
source at position 2 Apr 12 12:36:49 mythtv sshd(pam_unix)[4306]:

I have a Chaintech 7NIF2 motherboard, with 2 PVR-250 MCEs (I believe
they are Rev 3 cards from the numbering on the chips). The versions of
the software are the same as the ones on Jarod's site:
ivtv-kmdl-2.4.22-1.2174.nptl_37.rhfc1.at-0.1.9-25.rhfc1.at
ivtv-0.1.9-25.rhfc1.at
ivtv-firmware-2.02.023-3.at
Does anyone know of anything that might be causing this before I send it
off to the ivtv list? I would appreciate any help or clues!
Thanx
