Hi there,

slowly but not to stop my HEPC is getting finished. Nearly the last items
for the case are arriving.

For some pictures from work in progess:
http://www.xtsi.de/wiki2/tiki-browse_gallery.php?galleryId=5

Some information for the interested people:
- VIA EPIA M10000 Board
- PVR 350
- Slot-In DVD
- 160 GB harddisc
- USB WLan Adapter
- 256x64 pixel VFD built in front plate
- full case is "handmade" of alloy

- VIA CPU passive cooled
- Sereniti 2000 power supply built to passive cooling
- just one case fan running at 11 db/a (no chance to hear)

Hope that I can finish next week (if my wife and daughter are on holidays
;) )

Missing steps on the case:
- rear plate (hate it!!!)
- front plate ends (left and right) made of wood (polished)
- Cover plate (the milled out area) made of black acrylglass. Just the power
switch, slot for DVD, Front USB and Firewire, Headphone and Mic-Plug and a
glowing display behind ;)

Okay, but the main problem now is the display. I wrote a driver for the
"normal" alphanumeric lcdproc but this looks crap! At this time I'm plaing
with a graphical replacement for the lcdproc (same architecture: TCP/IP
screens and so on) based on SVG transfers to the server. That makes it
simple to replace just some parts like time etc. But the question is: Are
there any other people out there who want to use graphical lcds or vfds? If
so then simple mail me and maybe I'm able to manage it to get the source and
the rest of it to sourceforge (looks like if I should begin commenting the
code ;) ).

Best regards,

Henning
