You're right on that one.

Well...

Did and did not do? So you took a step by step guide on how to do it,
and chose to simply not do parts? What, did you think half the steps
were put in just for fun? I can understand some of the parts that are
hardware-specific, but if a guide tells you "install this software" and
you don't, you can't really complain much when it doesn't work... :)

You need some of the dev stuff to build MythTV. Possibly not necessary
anymore for entirely rpm-based installs, now that I think about it...

So you already had a version of apt installed. The atrpms-kickstart
installs apt also, so of course there were conflicts.

Uh, qt-MySQL is a REQUIREMENT for MythTV. Install it. While you're at
it, please read through all the official documentation...

Not good. Axel, any idea what's going on there? I'll take a look myself
in the morning...

That would be because the packages are only in the ATrpms repositories.

Your problem appears to be more apt-related, but both Axel and I lurk
around this list. I'm not certain yet if the problem is on your end or
the ATrpms end, but we'll do what we can to straighten it out. At this
point, my suggestion is to remove whatever apt you have installed, then
install the atrpms-kickstart and apt-get update && apt-get dist-upgrade
again. Like I said, I'll look at apt and ATrpms in the morning, if Axel
hasn't already.

We shall try.
