[mythtv-users] Success & problem

Hi,

First up, I have to say I'm impressed by Mythtv (even
my girlfriend likes it :-)

I only have one problem left: my second tuner card.

The first card is a cheap BT848 card which works
like a charm. The second one is a Terratec Cinergy 400
with the saa7134 chip. It works in Xawtv (with
sound playing through sox as Xawtv only supports
pass-through cables) so the card and setup are ok.
When I use Mythtv with that card I get the following
error when I strace the backend:

1922  open("/dev/video1", O_RDWR|O_LARGEFILE) = 33
1922  ioctl(33, 0x80685600, 0xbd3ffa4c) = 0
1922  ioctl(33, EXT2_IOC_GETVERSION, 0xbd3ffa0c) = 0
1922  ioctl(33, VIDIOCGMBUF, 0xbd3ff96c) = -1 EINVAL (Invalid argument)
1922  write(2, "VIDOCGMBUF:: Invalid argument\n", 30) = 30

I've seen reports where it seems to work, so I don't
know what's going on (except for a single message which
says this means that card/driver doesn't like that particular
ioctl() call).

I'm using the 0.2.9 driver from bytesex.

The question now is: what is this ioctl() calling trying
to do and why doesn't it work on my system?

any pointers?

regards,

marcel
