[mythtv-users] XVideo Problem With Trident TGUI 9680

I have a display problem when using a Trident TGUI 9680 to display TV (live
or recorded) via the mythtv frontend. The left 2/3 of the screen in
completely normal, no lagging, artifacts, etc. The right 1/3 of the
screen, however, consists of a series of narrow strips, each representing
the last 10 pixels or so of the "normal" part of the screen. To say it
another way, the right 1/3 of the screen consists of repeating the
rightmost 10 pixels of the left 2/3, and otherwise normal, part of the
screen. If you've ever stood directly between two mirrors facing each
other, it's the same kind of effect.

Mind you, my first inclination was to blame this entirely on the video
driver, except that full screen playback in mplayer is perfectly normal
video. It's only the myth frontend that gives this effect. Of course, it
still may be the driver, but it does narrow the possibilities. Oh, and if
I replace the Trident card with an nvidia card using the proprietary nvidia
driver, everything is normal.

Has anyone seen a similar effect? Does anyone have a suggestion on how to
fix or troubleshoot the problem? Any and all suggestions are welcome.

Thanks!

Bill
