[mythtv-users] Universal Remotes and pvr-250

This is something I spent most of last night looking in to.  I have a Radio
Shack 15-2104 Universal...  you just need something that does the rc-5
protocol.  Which would be
brands like Philips, Marantz, a few others.  So I basically just tried codes
for those brands, using irrecord (stop lircd first!)  The trick is finding a
code which enables all the buttons you want (for instance, a TV code might
not map the FF,RW,PLAY,REC buttons, etc.)  I never found one suitable enough
so I put it on hold for now.  The good thing about this remote (and many
others) is that it has a JP1 interface, which allows you to hook it to a
computer and program it.  I'm hoping that will solve my above problems, but
it's just something I've barely started looking into.  Maybe someone else
can provide a more thorough answer.

I have the pvr-250 with the black remote, but the remote does not have
enough functionality for me. Does anyone know of any good universal
remotes that work with the pvr-250 receiver?
