[mythtv-users] Unable to playback, high amount of i/o, low cpu usage.

I'm wondering if anyone else is seeing this behavior? Every so often when trying
to playback a recorded show I will see the following - High amounts of disk
activity (as indicated by the disk activity led, don't know what tool I could
use to hone in on this) with top showing low cpu and low load factor. The show
may play for the first few seconds. Then it will get stuck and you can't move
around and pretty much have the kill the frontend and restart it to get out of
the situation. It almost seems like it's having trouble seeking in the file. The
error messages in the xterm window are usually a few of "rebuffering (xxx yyy)".
(Sorry, I'd be more specific, but I'm away from the machine.)

Normally, I just delete the show and move on, but this morning it happened to a
recording of a cartoon for my 5 yr old son and so I'm more motivated to attempt
to solve it now.

The hardware is an EPIA M9000 with an ATV TV Wonder VE, RTJPeg recording profile
with Quality of 170, capture size of 352 x 480, audio is MP3 with quality of 7.
The show was over for about 15 minutes when playback was attempted. I'm using a
CVS build that is post .11, but is probably a couple of weeks old by now. OS is
Redhat 7.3 with a custom kernel (2.4.20-ac2 I think). I'm planning to upgrade to
RH 9, that's why I'm not up-to-date on CVS. Harddisk has dma turned on.

I try to follow the development and user lists by reading the digests and I
haven't seen mention of this problem or a fix that would address something like
this, but with the volume of messages I could very well have missed it.
