[mythtv-users] question about pre/post extra recording time...

It's been awhile since I poked around in myth's settings, and I recently
noticed the addition of a "record x seconds before..." option.  Awesome
addition.  However, since my wife has me record the almost-daily
back-to-back showing of Whose Line on ABC Fam, and I've noticed a lot of
overlap between them (and my recordings being slightly under 30 minutes,
despite having pre/post of >= 60 seconds apiece), I'm wondering how
these settings affect back-to-back recordings?  Do they just cancel each
other out, or is one prioritized over the other? (one would hope that
they just cancel each other out - I can't tell because abc fam's clock
runs a bit late).

Anyway, I'm also curious if it's possible to do both pre- and post-
recording for back-to-back shows if they're on the same channel (since
there would be little/no need to rebuffer things) - maybe using
something like mythtranscode to stitch a few minutes here and there onto
the beginning/end of one show or another.  No biggie, just thought I'd
mention it as a cool feature.
