Thanks very much for the reply.

Please forgive the newbie-ish questions, but what exactly is overscan, how
will it effect my viewing experience, and how much processor muscle will I
need to enable software de-interlacing (I was planning on using a Celeron
2.0 ghz to drive a ATI TV-wonder and a Hauppauge PVR-250).  I'm really
unsure of the implications of what your post says.
