Wow, you got a crash!?!? Very strange. No, on my black
remote nothing lights up. Wish I had a fix for you, I
was hoping this was an easy one.

BTW, did you install LIRC w/o making any changes to
any configuration files except for the ones stated in
Jarod's documentation?
