Got MythTV working. BEAUTIFUL. Very close and very
excited to get this finished. Two last things, the
most important being IVTV on my RH 9.0 box.

Running the 2.4.20-20_29.rh9.at kernal specific for
the Athlon from Axel's site. I RPM's both the kernal
update as well as the source (rpm -ivh --force
kernel-2.4.20-20_29.rh9.at.athlon.rpm).

Since then, I've been getting some unexpected results
when trying to configure VMWARE. No biggie, I'll call
VMWARE support once MythTV is done. Anyhow, I did the
apt-get command in Jarod's documentation for the IVTV
driver, but after several fresh installs I can't get X
to stop crashing after the install. One suggestion
that I found on Gossamer was to do a manual compile.
Followed the docs on mythtv.org:

$ cd ~/ivtv/ivtv/driver
$ make
Makefile:8: /usr/src/linux/.config: No such file or
directory
make: *** No rule to make target
`/usr/src/linux/.config'.  Stop.

My searches on Google indicate that I didn't have the
source installed properly and to run "make install" in
the /usr/src/linux-2.4.20-6/ as rpm -ivh --force
kernel-2.4.20-20_29.rh9.at.src.rpm wasn't enough.

After answering something like 200 questions, and
running "make dep", I rebooted in hopes of fixing the
compile problem. No luck. I think the solution to my
IVTV compile problem will also fix my VMWARE problem.
