[mythtv-users] Setting volume on PVR-250 via test_ioctl

It appear that my PVR-250 is clipping the audio on peaks. I'm trying to
lower the level. This command does not appear to work, and I've tried
many variations without success:

/usr/lib/ivtv/test_ioctl --set-ctrl=volume=50000

and

/usr/lib/ivtv/test_ioctl -y volume=50000

Both return this:
ioctl: VIDIOC_S_CTRL
ioctl: VIDIOC_S_CTRL failed

and here is the output of /usr/lib/ivtv/test_ioctl -Y
ioctl: VIDIOC_QUERYCTRL
Brightness = 127
Contrast = 63
Saturation = 63
Hue = 0
Volume = 59343
Mute = 0

I'm using this version of ivtv:
ivtv-0.12-cvs20031004_14.rh9.at
perl-Video-ivtv-0.12-3
ivtv-kmdl-2.4.20-20_29.rh9.at-0.12-cvs20031004_14.rh9.at

I've also been trying to raise the brightness with similar results, or
lack thereof.
Ideas?

Jim
