[mythtv-users] Is myth tv overkill for very simple antenna based application

It isn't overkill if it's helpfull, I couldn't live without mine ;-). Your 
specs look fine, I recommend going with a WintTV pvr 250, it will cut back 
on your cpu load and keep your quality high and it's very much supported in 
myth and even available on ebay if you want to save some cash. You could get 
away with a normal capture card (aka with no hardware encoding) but you 
would have to run the quality kind of on the low side. I had a AMD Athlon 
1.33 and it couldn't handle 640x480, but worked fine with slightly lower 
resolutions so it might be perfect for you, but these days the 250's are 
pretty cheap. Some of the 250's come with remotes, depends where you get it, 
but they aren't the greatest.
