For what it's worth, I get this occasionally too.  I am using
1.0-4363.  Other data that may be related: Asus A7N8X (NForce 2) 
with nvidia chipset drivers, Athlon 2400 XP+. 440 MX.  Can't
look up my X version right now but it's whatever is in debian
testing.  Using TVOut.

Symptom is I'll be watching something and everything will halt,
top shows XFree spinning at 100% CPU.  It doesn't happen often
enough to really bother me, but just thought I'd register myself
as another data point.
