You may know that the tuner module can be passed a 'type=xx' option.
However, it looks like the driver only can take one type argument, and
will apply that tuner type to all devices. That's really unfortunate.
It shouldn't be too hard to reprogram the kernel module to accept a list
of different tuner types. Another alternative would be to enhance the
bttv driver to automatically select the correct tuner type for your
cards.
However, both of those methods require actually mucking with source
code. I doubt it would be outside the domain of any moderately skilled
programmer, it's just that someone has to find time to do it.
I'm going to be jobless shortly, so that might give me an opportunity to
attack it ;-)
