That part looks fine.

That probably means your ivtv drivers didn't load the card to 
/dev/video0 (if it loaded it at all).

They can be there with or without a card present...

# /sbin/modprobe ivtv
# /usr/lib/ivtv/test_ioctl -a

See what kind of results you get with that. It should spit out all your 
card's settings. If that succeeds, then try setting the video standard 
again. I'm thinking that your ivtv driver never loaded...
