This seems to help, but I'm still getting the prebuffering pause 
messages even with a bitrate of 2000/2500.

It is certainly better than with the higher bitrate but still not 
usable.  The pauses show up about every 5 seconds with normal TV, but 
they are really bad when the OSD is fading out during channel changes.

Anyone with a similar setup that isn't having these problems?  I also 
switched to the latest IVTV drivers (last change Sept 30th) and that 
made no difference.
