I lost my cut lists on all new recordings, and suddenly the length of the shows was showing up as around 53 minutes, even though all 59 or so were recorded. As well my fast forward, even 30 seconds, got really slow, and 10 minute jumps took about 60 seconds to perform.

I still have about 30 recordings that were made during the period the db wasn't working properly. I was wondering if there is anyway to "reindex" these, both to correct the lengths in the DB as well as regenerate the cut lists etc, so I can skip commercials and also so FFWD works properly again?

You can try to run mythcommflag on the old recordings.
