Is this the kernel you have installed?

What's the output of

ls -l /boot/

?

Looks like you have the standard rh9 kernel installed. That's 2.4.20-8
not 2.4.20-20.9.

Why apt-get want's to install 2.4.20-20.9 modules in that case? I have
no idea.

Just a guess, though!
