You couldn't use it then because the ivtv folks didn't have sound 
working for the card.  Support for this card is being actively worked 
on by the ivtv folks, so if they've gotten the sound to work, then you 
can use it.  Myth shouldn't need to do anything as long as the driver 
supports the card.
