I've compiled the ivtv CVS version from yesterday evening, and the new
MythTV CVS version. Things run fine until I go to 'watch live tv' or
'watch recording' and select a recording. Then the frontend segfaults,
with this error message:
2003-11-09 12:56:44 Enabled verbose msgs : important general
2003-11-09 13:54:31 Connecting to backend server: 127.0.0.1:6543

Stream #0.1: Audio: mp2, 48000 Hz, stereo, 384 kb/s
Unable to open mixer: '/dev/mixer'
IVTVFB_IOCTL_GET_STATE: Invalid argument
2003-11-09 13:54:39 Changing from None to WatchingPreRecorded
When I load my alsa driver (don't really need it since I have a PVR350),
the /dev/mixer error doesn't appear, but the frontend segfaults just the
same:
2003-11-09 14:02:41 Enabled verbose msgs : important general

Any ideas?
With older versions of CVS ivtv/mythtv this problem doesn't exist, but I
get hard lockups of the whole computer (apart from the PVR350 entirely
different hardware than when I was reporting this earlier) after a
number of minutes of watching a recording/live tv. The exact amount of
time it takes to crash seems fairly random, but not more than 30 minutes
or so.
Bye for now,
Ward.
