Frequently this is a symptom of your sound card refusing to change sample rate to the requested rate.  Mythtv has no sample rate conversion as far as I can see(although mythmusic looks like it does this?)

You might be able to work around it by either disabling spdif (especially if you are using an nforce2), or raise the recording audio rate and then it won't be an issue
