If you have digital cable, you can only tune channels < 125 on a 
standard tuner.  Any higher channels need to come through your digital 
cable set-top box first.  Also, I don't know what effect (if any) an 
amplifier/splitter would have on a digital cable feed; I only have 
regular ol' analog cable myself.
